Free Bridge Software

These programs are for Microsoft Windows, unless otherwise noted. They should run on nearly all versions of Windows.

Download ACBLscore and run a home duplicate game professionally. This is the very same program used to score club and tournament games. It is quirky but full of features.

Download ACBLmerge to merge electronic hand records (PBN, GIB, or DUP) with ACBLscore results as shown on this website. Although the code was developed in the Windows environment it should work under Unix with minimal tweaking.

Download CCE the Bridge Convention Card Editor. This program seems to be the best of the free convention card editors. The user interface is clean and responsive, suit symbols are easily entered, and cards can be saved and printed.

Download WBridge, the computer bridge champion in 2005, 2007, and 2008, and experience the state of the art in computer bridge. Like Ginsberg’s Intelligent Bridge and its successor Jack Bridge, WBridge5 simulates many layouts consistent with the bidding and play up to the current trick, performs double dummy analysis on those layouts, and chooses the best percentage play. If the decision is close, it will simulate even more layouts, “thinking” harder, just like a human. Since the application is simply an executable and two help files (English and French), you can place them on a memory stick and always have them available without the need to install anything.

Download Bridgify for double dummy analysis. Walk through any hand trick by trick and see the best card(s) to play from each hand at each trick given the plays made previously. This program has a great simple, clean, and intuitive interface. Hands can be entered manually or loaded from PBN files such as those provided in the ACBLmerge generated results on this website. Since the application is just an executable and a help file, you can place them on a memory stick and always have them available without the need to install anything.

Download SuitPlay, a DOS program that determines the optimal play of suit combinations in bridge. This program is like having J.M. Roudinesco's Dictionary of Suit Combinations with you at all times, but it is two pounds lighter and no searching is required to find your suit combination. There are special analysis options for matchpoint and IMP scoring. One limitation is that the program assumes there are enough entries for the optimal line of play; there is no way to restrict the number of entries to each hand.

Download New Card, Merlin Vilhauer's convention card editor. Create electronic versions of convention cards which can be printed out or saved in a format suitable for OKbridge in addition to the native storage format.

Download Deal, Thomas Andrews’ bridge hand generator. There is a learning curve and to get the most out of the program you’ll need to learn a little Tcl programming. But if you are serious about simulation this option packed program is a real winner. Runs on Windows (DOS), MacOS, and Linux.

Download KGB Batch Converter, Kaj G Backas’ bridge batch file converter. Ever needed to convert a DUP file to PBN format or handle something obscure like old Duplimate (BRI) format? This is the program for you. 28 formats are supported.
